Yes. My pieces often contain animal materials of the natural world, such as: bone, leather, fur tufts, quills, antler, feathers and teeth. As often as possible, material is sourced from nature or from ethical retail. These pieces are meant to work in harmony with other materials I often source from nature, such as: wood, stones, foliage, florals, sand, soil, and shell.

Repurposing means that I often try to have fun with my source material by using items in ways they were perhaps not intended. My favorite example is: imagine you are at a hardware store and have to find items to construct a necklace. What would it look like? What would you use? Quite often, my material is new and has never been used before I repurposed it from its originally intended use into one-of-a-kind jewelry. More often than not, pieces will be composites of a little bit of everything.

Each order arrives encased in a plastic jewelry bag, wrapped in white tissue paper featuring a print of lavender plants, and enclosed within an eggplant-colored gift bag embossed with “Defunct Decoup” in iridescent lettering (see picture of bag at top of this page).

I offer shipping and tracking via USPS Priority Mail and USPS Priority Mail International at $7.50 or $35.00, respectively.
